I knew this day was gonna come. I have been on thyroid medication for 6 years now. It is under active and is very enlarged. I went to the doctor today and he said it was time to take it OUT!Scary!! I have never had surgery before, and having my neck cut open just freaks me out. Not sure when I have to do it. I still have to meet with the surgeon. Until then I will enjoy looking at my neck scar-FREE!!

Oh man! That is scary. Can they not control it with the medicine? My MIL had part of hers removed and you can't even see the scar--medical procedures are pretty high tech these days!
My MIL had half of hers removed too and you can't see the scar on her either... but she did lose her voice for a few weeks. Which was actually pretty nice. LOL Hope everything goes well, keep us posted and let me know if I can help you with anything!

I have been on medication which is suppose to slow it from growing, but it's not working.
