emotional roller coaster

...is what I have been on the past few weeks. I found out about 3 weeks ago that they found a piece of cancer in my thyroid after they removed it. I was in shock. I had 3 biopsy's done before surgery and they all came back negative. So now I have been taken off my thyroid medication (not fun) and I will do the radio active treatment the end of March. I am SUPER scared. Here's the instructions they gave me:

-After taking radio active pill in the hospital, go home immediately, ride in the back seat of the car. Can NOT be within 3 ft. of another person.
-Stay in a separate room ALONE for 3 days
-Drink LOTS of water
-Shower 3-4 times a day for the first 2 days
-When using the bathroom flush the toilet 2-3 times after
-Spouse should sleep in a different bed/room for 5 days.
-Wash clothing you wear during this process 3 times before wearing again.
-Do not walk barefoot around your house
-Don't go in public for 7 days.
-Don't get pregnant for 1 year after

How crazy is that!! Pretty much the pill works instantly to kill any of the microscopic cells that were left in there that could have the cancer in them. Then for the next week you are doing everything to get it out of your body. UGGGHHHHHH. I will be the happiest girl in the world once this is over!

Oh my gosh Ashley! I just now am reading your blog-- I've been out of touch with reality here lately.

Sorry you have to go through all of this. How scary. Hang in there. Be strong.
